Travel Feature – Staycation at Trump Hotel Toronto Review

RemixTheDog - Trump Toronto Travel

Earlier this month, we took a vacation in our own city and stayed at the beautiful Trump Hotel Toronto! Although a staycation may sound a little boring, leaving your house and relaxing at a local hotel has it’s benefits too. It certainly satisfied the travel bug in us and gave us an opportunity to explore a different part of the city. Apart from the America Restaurant (hello skyline view) and The Calvin Bar (signature cocktails anyone?) inside the hotel, there are also lots of local eats nearby. We recommend heading to Dineen for coffee and croissants, having dinner at The Garbadine  or grabbing Japanese cheese cake from the infamous Uncle Tetsu. From the moment we arrived at the property until the moment we checked out, we received wonderful service from all of the staff members at the hotel. One of the things that really stuck with me were the number of greetings we received. Whether we were leaving the hotel or returning, there would always be a friendly smile waiting for us in the lobby. If you get a chance, I would recommend signing up for the Trump CARD before your stay and filling out your preferences — it really customizes your visit. My favourite part was entering our Deluxe One Bedroom Suite and seeing all of my ticked preferences already there — from the type of water (sparkling or still) to the type of pillow I prefered. It may be small deal when you think about it, but it’s also something that gives you a home-away-from-home kind of feeling.

I’m always on the lookout for pet friendly hotels because traveling is, and always will be, one of my favourite things to do. This year, I’d like to take Remix to more places with me. The little guy has already been to Calgary, Banff, Lake Louise and Ottawa! Hopefully, we can add more destinations to that list in 2016! When it comes to being pet friendly, Trump Hotel is on the top of the list. Upon arriving in our room, there was already a plush bed, bowls, bottled water and some treats waiting for us. If needed, you can also arrange dog walking services with the concierge and a customized pet spa day at a offsite pet spa. Since this was our staycation, we decided to take Remix for a walk to see the ice skaters at Nathan Philips Square and also a stroll down Toronto’s Fashion Avenue on Queen West. We also passed by the iconic Hudson Bay Company and the Eaton Centre! 🙂

Overall, our vacation at the Trump Hotel Toronto was a lot of fun! We enjoyed being tourists in our city and definitely got to do a lot of exploring and relaxing. I think this may be the perfect solution for those in-between trips. If you know of any pet friendly hotels, leave them in the comments below and let us know if you’re a fan of staycations too! 😀
