August BarkBox Review

Summer is ending, and August is coming to a fast end. The only thing missing is our August BarkBox Review! Read on to see what we received in this month’s Block Party themed box. 😀

As always, if you see something you like, remember to use ‘REMIX‘ at BarkShop to get a free bully stick on your purchase over $10.

RemixTheDog - August BarkBox Review

This summer for us has been swamped, busy and fun! Between our impromptu road trip to New York with our fellow schnauzer pal Stanley to our trip to Poland and then having family visiting us, we’ve barely had time to breathe yet alone blog! Luckily, our August BarkBox came later in the month so Remix didn’t have to wait too long for his monthly boxed treat.

I have to admit that after receiving some pretty stellar boxes this summer, this month’s seemed a little lack lustre in comparison. We didn’t receive anything “BarkMade” this time around which was disappointing since the BarkMade toys are usually what makes the box for us. However, they did have a BarkMade Watermelon that may have shown up in the small pups boxes! If you received one, know that we are extremely jealous. 😛

All that aside, onto our top three:

  1. Harry Barker Fire Hydrant Rope Toy — we’ve received Harry Barker toys in previous boxes and absolutely love the quality of the toys. Remix is a huge fan of playing tug-o-war so this toy was perfect for him. Did we also mention that the underside is fuzzy for added texture?? 🙂
  2. Petmate Heggies Chef Plush Toy — don’t let the soft exterior fool you, the inside of this toy has a plastic bottle so rather than the usually squeaker, you get a sweet crushing sound! So far, Remix has enjoyed untying the apron and chewing on the chef’s hat.
  3. Wagatha’s Maple Bacon Dog Treats — these organic treats smell like bacon! We’re huge bacon fans but let’s be real, who isn’t? This treat has got Remix drooling for more and we can definitely see why. The ingredients include organic barley flour, smoked and cured bacon, organic maple syrup and organic cinnamon — ingredients that we could all fall in love with.

Overall, we’re still pretty satisfied with the box but hope that our next box will have a BarkMade toy inside. Check out the gallery below for some of the other items we received in our August BarkBox:

We’d love to know your thoughts — what did you love from this month’s box? 🙂
