[ Travel ] Affinia Hotel Shelburne NYC Pet Friendly Hotel Review
Remix and I just came back from an AMAZING trip to New York City and I’m already counting down the days until we return! We were welcomed with sunshine smiles, beautiful weather and the most wonderful adventure ahead of us. One of the places that truly made our trip away from home comfortable was the Shelburne NYC, located in midtown on Lexington and 37th! This was the first time we stayed at the Murray Hill boutique hotel and it definitely won’t be our last.

VIPaws Program
Coming by phenomenal pet friendly hotels is hard but we’re so happy that the Shelburne NYC is extremely pet friendly! Remix was greeted with lots of pets, kisses and we had no problems whatsoever. A VIPaws dog bed, food/water bowl and a Jax & Bone rope toy was already waiting for us inside the room along with a VIPaws door hanger for us to use. I also love that the VIPaws program includes a $10 donation to the Humane Society! Safe to say, Remix really enjoyed sleeping on both my and his bed. 😉
Location & More
The Shelburne NYC is a few blocks away from Grand Central Station, Madison Avenue, 7th Avenue Fashion District and the Empire State Building! We definitely took advantage of walking to all of these sights and even ventured to Central Park which was about 30 minutes away by foot. If you love skylines, I would recommend going up to the rooftop for a stunning view of New York City during golden hour!
We also loved the complimentary Social Sip wine hour which took place every day from 5 – 6 PM in the lobby! It was a great way to meet other travelers staying in the hotel as well as a bit of pre-dinner wine — perfect for the solo or non-solo traveler!
Overall, we had an incredibly fun stay and we’re looking forward to returning. If you’re looking for an affordable and comfortable place to stay with your pup, this is definitely one place we’d recommend.

Hi there, Remix is adorable. We rescued a puppy from the side of the road in Alabama in 2009 and have never been entirely sure what her breed(s) are until I saw Remix. They look so much alike! Q-tip (that’s my dog’s name) and I will start following Remix’s adventures ?
